In one of our projects, we had the opportunity to carry out inspection measurements of an installation instrument that is part of a system for assembling wind turbine blade components.

The challenge: control without the ability to physically adjust

The components of the instrument were manufactured independently of the other parts of the system, which were made in another country. This meant that there was no way to directly check the fit of individual components. The only way to verify the correctness of manufacture was through accurate geometric measurements.

Our task included:

• Checking the dimensions of key components of the instrument,

• control of the position and geometric interrelationships to the bases,

• Comparison of the results with the design assumptions and technical specifications.

For the implementation, we used precision 3D measuring equipment, which allowed us to obtain reliable results even in hard-to-reach areas of the measured component.

The results of the measurements were presented in the form of a clear inspection report , which confirmed the compliance of the workmanship of the parts with the technological requirements.
